Health Insurance in Orlando, FL

Orlando is home base. I live and work here, and I help Central Florida families, hospitality and theme-park workers, real estate agents, rideshare drivers and small business owners find coverage that fits a Florida budget.

A local advisor for Orlando health coverage

Central Florida's economy runs on tourism, hospitality, construction and a fast-growing base of self-employed workers, many without an employer plan. If that's you, you have more options than you might think, including Marketplace plans with subsidies and private PPO-style plans.

I help Orlando-area clients compare private PPO-style and ACA Marketplace plans, plus dental, vision, life and accident coverage. Florida uses HealthCare.gov for ACA plans, and I can enroll you there at no extra cost or show you private alternatives side by side.

Coverage for how Orlando works

Theme-park and hotel jobs with seasonal hours, rideshare and delivery driving, real estate, construction, and a growing number of remote workers: a lot of Orlando earns 1099 income or works for employers too small to offer a plan. I help you compare what's available on your own, including whether a subsidy brings a Marketplace plan within budget.

Kissimmee, Osceola County and the Hispanic community

Many of my Central Florida clients live in Kissimmee, Poinciana, Buenaventura Lakes and St. Cloud, and many prefer to talk about coverage in Spanish. I'm happy to explain every detail in English or Spanish, whichever you're more comfortable with.

Keep the doctors you trust

Around Orlando, many people want access to AdventHealth, Orlando Health. Not every plan includes every system, so I check your doctors, hospitals and prescriptions before you apply.

Orlando questions

Health insurance in Orlando: FAQ

Do you meet with clients in Orlando?
Yes. I'm based in Orlando. Most clients prefer phone, text or video because it's faster, but I'm happy to meet locally when it helps.
Will my Orlando doctors be in network?
That depends on the plan. Networks around Orlando differ a lot, especially for systems like AdventHealth and Orlando Health. Send me your doctors' names and I'll check before you enroll.
Is health insurance mandatory in Florida?
No. Florida has no state individual mandate, and the federal tax penalty has been $0 since 2019. Coverage is still strongly recommended, because a single hospital stay can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Where do I buy ACA coverage in Florida?
Florida uses the federal marketplace, HealthCare.gov, for ACA plans and income-based subsidies. You can also enroll with the help of a licensed agent like me at no extra cost.
Does Florida have expanded Medicaid?
Florida has not adopted ACA Medicaid expansion, so many adults without children don't qualify for Medicaid even with very low income. Marketplace subsidies generally start at 100% of the federal poverty level, and private plans are another option. I'll show you what's realistically available.
