Serving Miami-Dade County

Health Insurance in Miami, FL

Miami-Dade has one of the largest populations of entrepreneurs, independent contractors and small business owners in the country. Many of them are buying coverage on their own, and I help them do it.

A local advisor for Miami health coverage

South Florida premiums and networks vary a lot from one plan to the next, and the hospital system you prefer can narrow your choices quickly. I start with your doctors and work backward to the plans that include them.

I help Miami-area clients compare private PPO-style and ACA Marketplace plans, plus dental, vision, life and accident coverage. Florida uses HealthCare.gov for ACA plans, and I can enroll you there at no extra cost or show you private alternatives side by side.

Built for Miami's entrepreneurs

From Doral distributors and Hialeah shop owners to Brickell consultants and Miami Beach hospitality workers, Miami-Dade runs on small businesses and independent work. If you buy your own coverage, I'll compare private PPO-style and Marketplace plans side by side, and look at options for your employees too.

Help in English or Spanish

Miami is home to more Spanish speakers than almost anywhere in the country, and insurance is confusing enough in your first language. I explain everything, from deductibles to networks to the fine print, in whichever language you prefer.

Keep the doctors you trust

Around Miami, many people want access to Baptist Health South Florida, Jackson Health System, UHealth. Not every plan includes every system, so I check your doctors, hospitals and prescriptions before you apply.

Miami questions

Health insurance in Miami: FAQ

Do you meet with clients in Miami?
Most of my Miami clients work with me by phone, text and video, which is fast and needs no office visit. I'm based in Orlando and licensed throughout Florida.
Will my Miami doctors be in network?
That depends on the plan. Networks around Miami differ a lot, especially for systems like Baptist Health South Florida and Jackson Health System. Send me your doctors' names and I'll check before you enroll.
Is health insurance mandatory in Florida?
No. Florida has no state individual mandate, and the federal tax penalty has been $0 since 2019. Coverage is still strongly recommended, because a single hospital stay can cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Where do I buy ACA coverage in Florida?
Florida uses the federal marketplace, HealthCare.gov, for ACA plans and income-based subsidies. You can also enroll with the help of a licensed agent like me at no extra cost.
Does Florida have expanded Medicaid?
Florida has not adopted ACA Medicaid expansion, so many adults without children don't qualify for Medicaid even with very low income. Marketplace subsidies generally start at 100% of the federal poverty level, and private plans are another option. I'll show you what's realistically available.
